Inquire Of The Lord

 

"And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him."  (John 9:1-3)

“Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.”  (2 Samuel 21:1)

I will advise you to emulate David in the above scripture, when anything go wrong in your life, inquire of the Lord first. 

Joshua 7:1-12

In life, when things go wrong, when problems and afflictions arise and they begin to weigh you down and hold you down, that's when you cry unto God for their secrets and solution. Don't just pray amiss.

“He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”  (Daniel 2:22)

There can be deep and secret things that won't let you go forward, if they are not revealed to you and dealt with. There may be deep and secret things behind your marriage problems. Until it is revealed to you, you may not get the problem solved.

I remembered the first time I prayed for a lady that have been jilted and turned down by many eligible men for marriage. The Lord opened her eyes while praying and she saw a wedding cake, chained and the word "incest" printed upon it. After a while she recalled that she was sexually abused by her own father while growing up with him when her parents separated. This is what has stopped her from getting married and the reason behind the rejection she had faced with eligible bachelors.

Have you ever stopped and asked God what is the secret behind what you are going through now or the battles you are facing?

People do send me texts and emails, asking me to tell them who is behind their problem and I tell them to ask God, that he will reveal to them. A lot of us are desperate to know why some things are happening to us and also the way out. God can show us.

If you humbly go before God to ask him questions and anticipate answers from him, He will speak to you. I once prayed with a lady who has been home for over a year without job after being abruptly sacked from her last job. She was desperate for a job and didn't know why her job search has yielded nothing so far. As I sat and talked with her, the only hinderance I saw to her job breakthrough were yokes of delay hanging upon her. I prayed for just two minutes, breaking the yokes. On the fourth day, she got a Federal Government job. I don't know how long the devil would have kept her at home if the yokes were not revealed and broken.

Maybe your own is not delay, maybe it is disobedience in some way. You have refused to obey or carry out an instruction given to you by God, so God is just watching you. This particularly applies to people who have the call of God upon their lives. If God has called and told you to work for him, any further delay in carrying out that assignment will delay many other good things in your life. Some are too afraid or even too scared to give God 100% of their lives. Don't worry, God too may hold back good things from their lives.

If you don't ask, you won't get. If you don't seek, you won't find or know. A lot of people waiting for their appointed time will change their ways and their thinking when they know the truth about their situation.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32)

You don't know the truth yet, but when you know it, it will make you free.

God is waiting for you to ask him *the truth* about your situation and life challenges generally. Tell him to reveal the truth to you about that barren situation, that sickness, that affliction or oppression, that very problem you have.

A lady said she begin to sense that something is wrong somewhere when the second man that proposed to her stopped picking her calls and eventually broke up with her few days to their introduction. The first guy did just the same. While praying with her I discovered that she was being troubled by a spirit husband. I asked her the last time she dreamt of having sex and it became clear where her problem came from. We prayed against spirit husband that day and the guy called her back few days later.

Now, you don't really need a prophet to tell you what is going on in your life. You can ask God to show you and he will. If you believe him and you patiently wait for his answer.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

If he says so in his word he is obliged to keep it. He wants you to talk to him, to ask him those things which you don't know, which is not clear to you, so he can show you. If you have accepted Jesus into your life, which makes you a child of God, ask God these things and he will show you. Don't just ask once and say he didn't show you anything, ask him over and over again till you get a response from him. He is not deaf, he hears you.

You can't really trust many prophets out there, you can be your own prophet.

What you need to do is be born again, live a holy life, talk to God and he will answer you. He can reveal things to you through dreams, visions, trances or through other prophets. He can also speak to you audibly.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5). If you lean on your own understanding, you are bound to make mistakes, fail, or go astray. Trust the Lord to give you direction or show you the way and you won't miss road. God will not mislead you, that's why you should trust in him and him only.

"That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven." (Daniel 2:18-19)

1. O Lord, show me the secrets behind my problem (mention them) in the name of Jesus.

2. O Lord, show me what will change my level in the name of Jesus.

3. O Lord, show me the secrets of satan, in my life and my family, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, show me what I need to know, in the name of Jesus.

5. O Lord, show me the secrets to my progress in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, show me the secrets to my success, in the name of Jesus.

7. O Lord, show me the secrets to my breakthrough, in the name of Jesus.
