10 Habits That Weakens The Spirit Man

 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:44)

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (Ephesians 3:16)


A habit can be described as an acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary; or a manner of conducting oneself; or a settled tendency or usual manner of behavior.

HABITS THAT WEAKENS YOUR SPIRIT MAN

Your spirit is the life of God and the breath of God in you. It is your life force; your very being, your core. Our spirit was created by God so that we can contact and receive Him. Our body and our soul have their own specific functions; only our spirit has the ability to contact God (John 4:24). Our human spirit is the deepest part of our being.

A weak spirit means a weak soul and a weak person. A strong spirit on the other hands means a strong personality, a strong confidence, and a powerful, important person. To maintain a strong spirit, here are some habits you will want to avoid:


1. Gossip: Gossip is a symptom of a weak and an unstable spirit.

2. Anger: Your human spirit is not in control when you are angry, another spirit is technically in control, especially the spirit of what or who made you angry. So your spirit is sidelined and observes helplessly.

3. Overeating

4. Covetousness

5. Stealing: When you steal, you are cursed (Zechariah 5:3-4). Curses makes the spirit powerless.

6. Lying.

7. Sexual perversions: The spirit of lust is in charge of most sexual perversions. If this spirit is in control in your life, it weakens your human spirit.

8. Wickedness: Any wicked thing you do makes your spirit weaker. Wickedness usually starts with hatred, anger or jealousy, then it proceeds to blackmail, murders, witchcraft, slander, intimidation, suppression, etc. The only way to eschew wickedness is to love God, fear God, and love your neighbour.

9. Idolatry: Worship of other gods other than Yahweh and the adoration of earthly things - Money, our identities, entertainment, etc. It kills the spirit man.

10. Demonic oppressions: The main reason behind demonic oppression is to enslave the soul, body and spirit of an individual through satanic powers. If this is achieved, Satan can then use the spirit and soul of the person for whatever he wants. Examples and manifestations of demonic oppressions in humans includes prostitution, dream attacks, masochism, hot tempers, sleep walking, hearing strange voices, fear, movement inside the body, etc.
